Cat Quest II revealed for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch

The arch-rivals in the Cat gaming world have finally decided to join paws. The eagerly anticipated Cat Quest II has been officially confirmed to play on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch platforms. The game follows on from the massive success of its predecessor allowing the creators at Gentlebros to build on the story of the world of Felingard— a fantastic world dominated by adorable cats.

Cat Quest II tells a story of a major threat from an existing war between the cats of Felingard and the Lupus Empire. Circumstances forces the two rivals to come together against their will and match forward towards an adventurous journey of discovery. The lingering question revolves around whether the two rivals will be able to establish and manage to put aside their differences to bring lasting peace to their worlds. The game will undoubtedly retain its addictive adventure and thrilling combat mechanics of the original Cat Quest with significant improvement on nearly every aspect such as:

  • A brand new set of adventurous tale in Felingard and beyond
  • Modern weaponry to enhance combat experience.
  • New features and abilities.
  • New switch and co-play gameplay modes.

No more cross-play of Fortnite between Nintendo Switch and PS4 players

Sony is blocking the cross-play, but fans can still play on Xbox One, Mac, PC, and mobile players. Fortnite was developed as an online free-to-play game. Although the game supports syncing, the concern about whether the Switch players will enjoy the privilege of cross-playing with the counterparts on other platforms was addressed on Twitter by Nick Chester; the game PR representative. According to Nick, Fortnite will support cross-play with all other platforms but PlayStation 4. This aligns with past implementations where Sony has been seen to block other console platforms from cross-playing with its own.

It's unfortunate that PS4 players of Fortnite will be locked out of their Epic accounts on the Switch since it is tied up with the user's PSN username. This means that the players will no longer have the weekly progress or access to any of the game's skins or emotes. If wondering why such choice was made and how Sony will gain from it, well, it's about how console exclusivity works, and a means to eliminate an existential threat to its dominance in the industry.
