The Gambit Movie Is Set For Valentine's Day 2019 But Will It Actually Make It To That Year?
Despite the fact that almost all studios are leaping on all forms of superhero property, Fox appears to be very reluctant to release the upcoming Gambit movie in 2019.
The first thing they did was to exclude the film from the slate of their upcoming films, placing it in a complete state of limbo. But even before that event, there had been rumors that Channing Tatum, who is the lead star, was planning to quit the project even though he was the main driving force behind it. This is just one of the reasons that make it hard to tell whether the Gambit movie will be able to premiere in 2019. Doug Liam, who is the director, has also, on the other hand, stopped the work on the movie, to create some time for the Amazon Studios' thriller known as The Wall.
It is important to note that the original release of Gambit had been previously set for 7th of October 2016, but the production was allegedly delayed due to scripting issues. The project had to be postponed to a new release date under unclear circumstances. The Gambit movie has faced a lot of other issues that keep on sending a dark cloud on its 2019-planned release. Two great personalities, Rupert Wyatt and Lea Seydoux, (who was set to play the leading lady role in the film) both quit under unclear circumstances. As of now, Gore Verbinski who was the director of Rango and Pirates of the Caribbean is scheduled to begin directing from the script of Josh Zetumer.
The Gambit character was designed in 1990 and grew more to prominence as a result of the 1992 cartoon series. As things stand right now, it is not clear whether Anna Paquin will feature in this new movie. Things are not clear about this old film, and whether it will be able to hit theatres in 2019 it's very hard to know, at least based on all those factors and controversies. It might be headed for a fate that is worse than that of The Last Stand movie.
